Eric Burdon is a renowned British singer-songwriter and actor, best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band The Animals and later the funk band War. Born on May 11, 1941, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Burdon's powerful voice and distinctive stage presence helped catapult The Animals to international fame in the 1960s.
