Gilbert

Schlager artist from Austria. Born on 17. November 1959 in Innsbruck, Austria. Gilbert was born in Innsbruck and grew up in Umhausen in the Tyrolean Ötztal. At the age of nine he made his first stage appearance and four years later had his own band. In the 1980s he was part of the hit duo Gilbert & George, which performed throughout Europe. After a break, he returned to the music business in the 1990s as a songwriter for other performers, before he recorded his first solo album, Gnadenlos, in 1997. From this comes his most famous song You My Little Friend. From the mid-2000s, he participated in international music events such as the Grand Prix of Folk Music and the 2004 International Peace Song Contest in Ireland.
