Morgoth

German death metal band

Morgoth is a German death metal band formed in 1987 in Meschede, Germany. The band was initially named "Cadaverous Smell" and played grindcore, but they changed their name to Morgoth when their style shifted towards death metal. Morgoth quickly became one of the more prominent bands in the early European death metal scene. They released their first EP, "Resurrection Absurd," in 1989, which was followed by another EP, "The Eternal Fall," in 1990. These releases garnered attention and led to their first full-length album, "Cursed," in 1991. The album was well-received and is often considered a classic in the genre.
