Skyy was an American R&B/funk/disco band that formed in Brooklyn, New York, in the late 1970s. The band is best known for its hit singles such as "Call Me," "Start of a Romance," and "Real Love." Skyy was originally formed by sisters Denise, Dolores, and Bonne Dunning along with musician Solomon Roberts Jr. Their music is characterized by funky rhythms, infectious bass lines, and soulful vocals. They released their debut self-titled album "Skyy" in 1979 under the Salsoul Records label. Throughout the 1980s, Skyy continued to release successful albums including "Skyy Line" in 1981, which featured one of their biggest hits, "Call Me." The band's popularity peaked during this era, and they became known for their energetic live performances and dance floor anthems. Skyy's influence extended into the 1990s as they continued to record and perform, leaving a lasting impact on the R&B and dance music scenes.
