Sonic Boom is the stage name of Peter Kember, an English musician and producer known for his work in the genre of space rock. He first gained prominence as a founding member of the influential band Spacemen 3, which he formed in 1982 with Jason Pierce (J. Spaceman). After Spacemen 3 disbanded in 1991, Kember continued to make music under the name Sonic Boom and also formed the experimental group Spectrum. As Sonic Boom, Kember has released several solo albums and has collaborated with a variety of artists. His work is characterized by its use of drone-heavy minimalism, electronic textures, and innovative production techniques. Kember has also been involved in producing and remixing tracks for other artists, contributing to their sonic landscapes with his distinctive style.
