Sylosis is a British heavy metal band formed in 2000 in Reading, Berkshire. The band is known for their blend of thrash metal with progressive and melodic elements. They have undergone several lineup changes throughout their career, with guitarist Josh Middleton remaining the only constant member. Sylosis gained significant attention with the release of their 2008 album "Conclusion of an Age," which marked their first full-length release with Nuclear Blast Records. Following this, they continued to build their reputation with subsequent albums such as "Dormant Heart" in 2015 and "Cycle of Suffering" in 2020. The band's sound is characterized by aggressive riffs, complex guitar solos, and a mix of clean and harsh vocals. Despite periods of inactivity and members' involvement in other projects, Sylosis has maintained a dedicated fan base and is respected within the metal community for their technical proficiency and consistent quality of work.
