The Cardigans are a Swedish rock band formed in Jönköping, Sweden, in 1992. The group is known for their melodic pop rock sound and gained international fame in the mid-1990s. The band's lineup has included Nina Persson as the lead vocalist, Peter Svensson on guitar, Magnus Sveningsson on bass, Bengt Lagerberg on drums, and Lars-Olof Johansson on keyboards and guitar. Their breakthrough came with the release of their third album, "First Band on the Moon" in 1996, which included the hit single "Lovefool." This song became particularly popular after being featured in the film "Romeo + Juliet" and propelled The Cardigans to international recognition.
