British Indie Rock Band

The Charlatans, often referred to as The Charlatans UK in the United States, are a British rock band that formed in the late 1980s. Emerging from the indie music scene, they became a key part of the Madchester movement that fused alternative rock with acid house music. The band's lineup has seen some changes over the years, but Tim Burgess (vocals) and Mark Collins (guitar) have been consistent members for much of its history. They achieved early success with their 1990 debut album "Some Friendly," which featured the hit single "The Only One I Know."
