Canadian Thrash Metal Band

Wreck-Defy is a Thrash Metal band from Canada formed in 2016, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The story begins in Thunder Bay, Ontario, in 2016 Matt (guitars) and Justin (vocals, bass, ex-Alphakill) were working together on some songs that Matt had written and arranged over the years... Matt decided to finally do a proper recording and spoke with Glen Drover about it via Facebook. Initially, Matt's friend Derrick Kroll was considered to do all the drum tracks... however when Glen offered to have his brother Shawn Drover play drums... it was a no brainer. The guitars were recorded in 4 days in Justin's basement as dry tracks and sent to Glen to be reamped in Windsor Ontario at Glen's home studio. The bass and vocals were done in Winnipeg in Justin's basement as well. Shawn tracked all of his drums in Glen's studio over a 10 day period in August 2017. Matt was able to gather interest from a few different independent labels however decided to go with Alone Records out of Greece because of Emmanoel’s, the owner’s friendly and up front honest approach to things. With a 2nd album already written and soon ready to be recorded... it’s just a matter of time before the band blows up at an underground level and hopefully does a proper tour... As of right now, the band will be playing select festival shows...starting with the Manitoba Metalfest in March 2018 where they will open for the legendary Demolition Hammer. Derrick Kroll from Alphakill and formerly of Evil Survives will be handling the drum duties at this show. Also... Jordan Gosselin from the band Dyrewolf in Winnipeg will be playing the bass guitar on the Manitoba show. Jordan is a phenomenal bass player and can play just about any Steve Harris lick there is.
