Mod

A real subculture involving music, fashion and a love of Vespa scooters and Italian fashion began in 1958 in London. Mod is short for modernist because he is a fan or musician of modern jazz music. Mod's cultural influences consist of jazz, R&B, power pop and soul. The first bands and artists that define the music are artists like Miles Davis and Ronnie Scott. The Who, Small Faces and The Jam were rock bands that mods favored because of the relationship of lyrics and revival of culture. The Who's Quadrophenia album and the movie of the same name are must listens and must watch because it was the soundtrack to the well-known Mod movie of the same name.
