Frankie Goes to Hollywood was a British band that became prominent in the 1980s, known for their dance-pop music, provocative lyrics, and flamboyant image. The group was formed in Liverpool in 1980 and consisted of Holly Johnson (vocals), Paul Rutherford (backing vocals), Peter Gill (drums), Mark O'Toole (bass guitar), and Brian Nash (guitar). They first gained attention with their hit single "Relax," which was banned by the BBC for its sexually suggestive content but still soared to the top of the UK Singles Chart in 1984.
