The eminent Czech conductor Jiří Bělohlávek has joined forces with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra to make a wonderful recording of Smetana's My Country, which will be released posthumously on Decca in January 2018. This recording is the first album release by the Czech Philharmonic in collaboration with its esteemed chief conductor Jiří Bělohlávek since his death in May 2017. It is clear from the recording that Smetana's masterpiece My Country has always played a central role in the Czech Philharmonic's era, as well as being recorded by musicians for whom the music of their homeland is inseparable.
