His voice is smooth, his vocals understated and his songs move to smooth, sexy rhythms. It all sounds so fleeting and light that it's easy to overlook just how vast Withers' output really is. His best songs, which are never pretentious, exude a warmth that lingers long after the last note has faded. This exclusive 10-song collection focuses on a number of songs from his remarkable Sussex records of the early '70s, including such hits and near-hits as "Grandma's Hands," "Who Is He (And What Is He to You?)" and the properly funky "Use Me," as well as some gems from the later '70s (including, for example, "Lovely Day").
