40th anniversary, first regular Einstürzende Neubauten album in twelve years! Blixa Bargeld & Co. release the album "Alles in Allem" on Potomac. Alles in Allem contains ten new songs, which are thematically mainly revolving around Berlin. The lyrics lead into the past, building on his own work, building on older lyrics and bringing them into the future. However, they always relate to the present of the German capital, as in Welcome to Berlin, which takes a cynical look at recent developments in the metropolis. The music of Einstürzende Neubauten is firmly anchored in the here and now and is also meant to sound: The obligatory trip to the scrapyard to find the sound has been cancelled this time. For Taschen, they used an ordinary travel bag filled with rags; for the title track, Alles in Allem, Bargeld walked down the corridor outside the studio and described the associations that the scratched paint on the floor evoked. The first track Ten Grand Goldie in particular serves as an example of Neubauten's continued innovative power: the singer reached out to the band's fans and invited them to get involved in the creative process. Their spontaneous answers to Bargeld's questions formed fragments of the song's lyrics. Some fans were permanently involved in the album's creation process, connected via live webcasts, interpreting and discussing the songs with each other and the band.
