This deluxe reissue, originally released in 1974 on RSO Records, features over 74 minutes of live, remastered audio from the original multi-track tapes, a 32-page booklet with an informative essay by David Fricke of the Rolling Stones, and plenty of candid, previously unpublished photos. What Arthur Lee began on Love's Black Beauty (released to great acclaim on High Moon in 2013), he has brought to completion on Reel To Real. Armed with a major-label budget and a strong, intuitive band, he dove deep into the blues, soul and rock grooves that first inspired him, reaching new audiences with his wild and forward-thinking personal vision. Against a palette of prickly guitars, explosive breaths, deep funk bass and clavinet, splashes of spacey synth and dreamy female backing vocals, Arthur Lee brought his funkiest and most soulful collection of songs and channeled the most intimate vocal performances ever best entrusted to tape. High Moon Records has unearthed 11 revelatory, previously unreleased tracks from the original sessions, including alternate takes and mixes, live studio rehearsals and 4 newly discovered Ar thur Lee originals!
