But new is only partially true here, as it's actually a collection of hits and classics that the current lineup of the band has completely re-recorded. According to band founder Mike Rutherford, it was time to re-record the old songs as they have evolved over the years on stage. But: In addition, there are three brand new songs on "Out Of The Blue", namely "One Way", "What Would You Do" and the lead single "Out Of The Blue". In addition to the standard CD and LP, the new album is also available as a deluxe double CD. It includes six additional newly recorded acoustic versions of "Don't Know What Came Over Me", "The Best Is Yet To Come", "The Living Years", "Beggar On A Beach Of Gold", "Another Cup Of Coffee" and "Over My Shoulder". New songs and classics in a new guise: on the album "Out Of The Blue" Mike & The Mechanics artfully combine both.
