"I Dream Of Christmas" by Norah Jones, last year's Christmas bestseller, is a modern and charming masterpiece. This year, the album returns in deluxe editions on LP and CD, each containing 24 tracks to make your Christmas season even more enjoyable (with eight new recordings: the studio tracks "The Christmas Waltz," "O Holy Night" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and five live recordings, recorded at the Empire State Building)!
Norah Jones became instantly famous worldwide with her debut album "Come Away With Me" in 2002, which sold over 27 million units. Since then, her silky smooth voice has been a constant companion to many millions of people. Previously, you could only guess how often fans listened to their favorite album at home, but today you know almost exactly - "Come Away With Me" is one of the biggest streaming hits. Since then, Ms. Jones has added many beautiful and equally enduring albums to her discography. What she's never done, however - even though her voice lends itself to such feel-good subject matter - is record a Christmas album.
Until now. On her first Christmas album, "I Dream Of Christmas", she gives the honor of including some classics like "Winter Wonderland" and "White Christmas", but above all she relies on her own original work, as she is a nine-time Grammy Award winner. She has managed to create a Christmas miracle that never falls into the typical clichés. Instead, she adds to the canon of holiday classics with an original work that many will enjoy hearing even twenty years from now.
"I've always loved Christmas music, but I've never had the impulse to record a Christmas album until now," says Norah. "Then, late last year during the lockout, I listened to James Brown's 'Funky Christmas' and Elvis' 'Christmas Album' to relive a familiar and comforting feeling. In January 2021, I suddenly wondered what it would be like to record my own Christmas album. I enjoyed working on the project immensely and eventually went into the studio with it."
