Strut once again presents a new generation of Southern music in collaboration with Sofrito Soundsystem. Thanks to DJs Hugo Mendez's (based in Paris) and Frankie Francis's (a mastering engineer in London) insatiable thirst for new music and the undiscovered sounds of yesteryear, Sofrito have built a unique reputation since warehouse parties in East London in the mid-2000s. The new record playfully mixes the old with the new and features long-forgotten gems from Trinidad, Colombia, Dominica, Congo, Cameroon and beyond. In the past year, Sofrito has filled clubs around the world with their inimitable vibes, sharing the same stage as Haiti's Ra Ra Collective in Paris. Their vinyl series "Sofrito Super Singles" has been causing a stir in the underground for some time now, with their raw dance edits impressing artists such as Daphni (aka Dan Snaith / Caribou), DrumTalk and Sweden's Tropical Treats and prompting covers of their records. For the current release, visual master Lewis Heriz interpreted Sofrit's novel worldview with a special design in the form of the globe cutout on the accompanying poster.
