Dutch Death Metal Band

Gorefest was a Dutch death metal band that was formed in Goes, Netherlands in 1989. They were known for their heavy sound and were considered one of the country's premier metal acts during their active years. The band initially gained attention with their debut album "Mindloss" in 1991, but it was with their subsequent albums, such as "False" in 1992 and "Erase" in 1994, that they really established themselves within the metal community. Gorefest's music evolved over time, incorporating more groove and melody into their sound, which was evident in the albums "Soul Survivor" (1996) and "Chapter 13" (1998). After a hiatus, they reunited and released "La Muerte" in 2005, which continued to showcase their evolution as a band with a blend of death metal and more traditional heavy metal elements. Despite their success and strong following, Gorefest disbanded in 2009, leaving behind a legacy that influenced many within the genre.
