American Composer and Conductor

Harold Farberman (1929-2018) was an American composer, conductor, and percussionist with a multifaceted career in the world of classical music. He was a pioneer in advocating for the recognition of the conductor as an artist, rather than merely an interpreter. Farberman founded the Conductors Guild and also established the Conductors Institute, a summer training program for conductors that has been influential in shaping the careers of many successful maestros.
