French heavy metal band

Gojira is a French heavy metal band formed in 1996 in Bayonne, originally under the name Godzilla, which they later changed to Gojira for legal reasons. The band consists of brothers Joe Duplantier on vocals and guitar, and Mario Duplantier on drums, Christian Andreu on lead guitar, and Jean-Michel Labadie on bass. They are known for their environmentally-themed lyrics and have incorporated progressive and technical elements into their music. Gojira's sound has evolved over the years from their first album "Terra Incognita" in 2001, showcasing a blend of death, thrash metal, and groove elements.
