Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits is a compilation album by Simon and Garfunkel released in 1972. The album contains songs from the duo's first five studio albums, starting with "Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M." from 1964 to "Bridge over Troubled Water" from 1970. The album was certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA and sold over 14 million copies in the United States. The album opens with "The Sound of Silence," the duo's first hit single. The song originally appeared on their debut album "Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M" in 1964. The album also features "The Boxer" from their 1969 album "Bridge over Troubled Water". The song became a hit on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. The album also contains several other hits by the duo, including "I Am a Rock", "Homeward Bound" and "Bridge over Troubled Water". The album was commercially successful and was certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA.
