Testament are often referred to as one of the most popular and influential bands in the thrash metal scene. Their debut album, "The Legacy", caught the attention right after its release in 1987. "The Legacy" made many year-end lists, including that of the renowned metal label Metal Injection. Loudwire ranked the album as one of the top ten thrash albums not released by the Big Four. The album spawned one single, the opening track "Over The Wall", which the band still plays at almost every show to this day and is still one of the most popular songs among fans.
